Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Greyford Atlas Oy processes when you visit padulstudios.com or contact us, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Finnish data protection law.

The short version

  • This site has no analytics, no advertising trackers, no social media plugins and no cookies.
  • Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from Google or other third parties.
  • The drawing pad works only in your browser. Your drawings are never sent to us.
  • We only get personal data if you email us, or if your school orders books from us.

What we process and why

Visiting the website. Our hosting provider records technical data that every browser sends, such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser type, in server logs. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Emailing us. When you email us we process your name, email address, the content of your message and anything else you choose to include, such as your school's name. We use it to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to messages (Art. 6(1)(f)), or steps before a contract when you ask for a quote (Art. 6(1)(b)).

School orders. For orders we process the contact person's name, the school's name, billing and delivery address, email address and order details. Legal basis: performing the contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legal obligations under Finnish accounting and tax law (Art. 6(1)(c)).

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Pupils who use the book in class are never in contact with us.

Who else handles the data

  • Netlify, Inc. (USA) hosts this website and processes the server log data described above. Transfers outside the EU rely on the safeguards in Netlify's data processing agreement, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Microsoft (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd) provides our email through Microsoft 365 and stores the emails you send us. Any transfers outside the EU rely on Microsoft's data processing terms and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Our bank and accounting service providers process invoicing and bookkeeping data for school orders.
  • Amazon. If you click "Buy on Amazon" you leave our site. Amazon's own privacy notice applies there, and we do not receive your purchase details.
  • Gmail and Outlook links. If you write to us through the Gmail or Outlook links next to our email address, you go to Google's or Microsoft's website, and their own privacy terms apply there.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period, typically up to 30 days. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your request and then deleted, at the latest two years after our last exchange, unless they relate to an order. Order and invoicing records are kept as long as Finnish accounting law requires, typically 6 to 10 years.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability where it applies. To use these rights, email hello@padulstudios.com. We answer within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish data protection authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies and does not store anything on your device, so there is no cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Buying the book

Individual copies of Hidden in the Paint are sold through Amazon. Amazon is the seller, and Amazon's terms of sale, delivery, returns and the consumer right of withdrawal apply to those purchases.

Schools and other organisations can order directly from Greyford Atlas Oy by email. Each order is confirmed with a written quote that states the price, VAT, delivery and payment terms. Direct orders are business-to-business sales.

All artwork, photographs and text on this site and in Hidden in the Paint are © 2026 Greyford Atlas Oy. You may not copy, print or redistribute the pages of the book, in print or digitally, without written permission. Schools that need to make copies for teaching can write to us and we'll find a fair arrangement.

Pictures you make with the drawing pad on this site are yours to keep and share.
